James Talarico’s past positions are back under the microscope as the Texas U.S. Senate race against Ken Paxton becomes one of the most important political battles of the 2026 midterms.

ChrisX digs into Talarico’s comments on voter ID and poll watchers, his past rhetoric connecting capitalism with systems of oppression, his abortion-policy proposals after Roe v. Wade, and the continuing fight over transgender policy involving minors and school sports.

Meanwhile, the Paxton–Talarico race is attracting major national money as Republicans fight to hold a Texas Senate seat that has suddenly become competitive.

Then President Donald Trump makes history on U.S. currency with the release of the new 2026 Trump $1 coin celebrating America’s 250th anniversary. Chris breaks down the coin, the pricing and one obvious question: why does $25 worth of dollar coins cost $61?

The show also turns to a major Houston true-crime story as James Elmore Jr. receives the maximum 20-year sentence in connection with the 1984 death of Laura Miller in the infamous Texas Killing Fields. Chris reveals his personal connection to the story after previously interning for Laura’s sister, Wendy Miller.

Plus: record ICE arrests, immigration and crime, Mattress Mack giving free mattresses to veterans, Brendan Fraser’s viral fan interaction, Florida Man insanity and plenty of Friday Show on Thursday caller chaos.
