Welcome to Haunted Sioux Falls, I’m your host, John Small. On this episode, we head to a building that used to be a school, and some spirits may be staying after class! The Washington Pavilion is known today as a hub for science, art, and performance. But tucked inside is a story of something… less educational. The haunted elevator. Several employees have told of stepping inside and feeling an icy chill, as though someone invisible rode with them. Doors open on floors no one selected. Lights flicker. In the reflection of the elevator doors, some say they’ve seen an unfamiliar face—smiling faintly—only to turn and find themselves alone. One rumor speaks of a man who died in the building years before its renovation into the Washington Pavilion... back then this building was Washington High School. Another story suggests residual energy from the many lives connected to the space. Most riders find nothing unusual. But if you find yourself in the Washington Pavilion elevator and feel a sudden chill, you might have an extra passenger, just along for the ride!
