Founded in 1989, the aktionstheater ensemble has become one of Austria's most important contemporary theaters, traveling tirelessly between Vienna and Vorarlberg. The productions of recent years could be called, in reference to Schiller, dramatic poems. For a great deal is condensed here: language, body and music, choreographies, experiences, personal research, and historical events. People who are also actors take to the stage, singing, dancing, and narrating, creating a web of all theatrical disciplines.
