The Council declared February 2-8, 2020 as "Idle-Free Week" in Ogden City to help spread awareness of the effects that idling has on our air quality. In this episode, Council Chair Angela Choberka discusses the Council's approach to the issue, including the challenges behind an anti-idling ordinance. Brian Bennion, the Executive Director and Health Officer for the Weber-Morgan Health Department, also joins the podcast to share ideas to limit idling and provides information on services and initiatives to monitor the air and incentivize efficient transportation. Jennifer Bodine, the Sustainability Manager at Weber State University, shares the steps WSU has taken to be more sustainable, and also offers suggestions for individuals to do the same. While Idle-Free Week may be coming to an end, the hope is the lessons learned will be applied daily.
