Electric customers around the state are being asked to reduce consumption. Mike Connor at BTU says the manager of the state's power grid has made a voluntary request as opposed to giving notice of temporary blackouts.

Moving use of appliances to evening and morning hours, raising the temperature on the thermostat, and keeping window blinds closed are some of the suggestions to conserve electricity.
