My show is recorded on Tuesdays for broadcast on Thursdays. So sometimes I appear to be following others with my news, where is fact at the time of the recording I was ahead of the game.

False holiday illness claims were first covered on my show by my guest Frank Brehany back in January. He had been warning about this years before then.

It is now the hot topic in the travel trade so we revisit it this week. Of course, the day after the show was recorded Abta made a big announcement about how it wants this problem to be handled.

But as Frank mentioned back in January, the travel trade could have been taking steps to reduce these claims without having to call on the government to do something.

Also covered by Frank is price comparison websites, BA's little IT problem and what airlines should provide if you are delayed or denied boarding and cabin air quality.

Again, after the show was recorded another big announcement was made about this.

Not my week, is it?

Finally, Travel Supermarket has researched the history of package holidays, the travel writer James Ellis discusses what was found. He also gives a great story about his first ever package holiday.

Emma Coulthurst from Travel Supermarket explains how this price comparison website monitors its suppliers to ensure that customers are not misled. She also has some holiday ideas for those looking for a cheap summer holiday.
