Allen Hedrick, M.A., CSCS, RSCC, FNSCA, is the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Colorado State University-Pueblo, a position he has held since 2009. Hedrick began his coaching career as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at Fresno State University. Following graduation Hedrick was hired at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs as the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator, a position he held for three years. Hedrick then moved on to the United States Air Force Academy, where he stayed for 12 years, the first three as an assistant and the final nine as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Upon leaving the Academy Hedrick worked at the National Strength and Conditioning Association for three years, both in the Human Performance Center and in the Education Department, before moving on to his current position. Hedrick, who was the NSCA’s Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year in 2003, has been published over 100 times in various journals, has authored chapters in three text books related to strength and conditioning, authored two books, and has produced numerous DVD’s on various strength and conditioning topics. Hedrick, who is a Club Coach for USA Weightlifting, has produced athletes who have competed and medaled at both the American Open and the U.S. National Championships. Hedrick also competes in the sport of weightlifting himself.
