What is to be done about single-use plastics? 
The ban on plastic bags has come into effect, the same day that Plastic Free July kicked off, continuing the conversation about what is to be done about our plastic dependency. 
With straws, balloons and coffee stirrers amongst other items being eyed for bans by countries around the world, what are the alternatives? 
Camden Howitt runs the data collection and education services for Sustainable Coastlines, which looks for ways to ensure our coastlines and waterways remain protected from rubbish and damage. 
He told Andrew Dickens that the plastic bag ban is a good step, but we need to keep making small steps to change our behaviours if we want to reach zero waste.
