That's a pretty new radio. I couldn't go for the $500 price tag. But the mod would not cost anything. Just remove the resistor. It's not uncommon at all. But, it's not legal. If you go to the link, it shows where it will transmit. That's nowhere near cellular.

Yeah I'm sure!!! That's highly illegal. Yeah, getting it on police frequencies wouldn't take much. I'm trying to find what it would take, but I'm not finding it at the moment.
OK. Yeah, that's the latest and greatest. It will receive just about anything including digital stuff that mine won't. The radio is about $500. Police band? Oh yeah, that's a different story. Completely possible.
