Herbert Bowens (aka H3) talks about his early musical influences, challenges in the industry and advice for up & coming artists.

About H3:
Herbert Bowens, Jr. is a native of Albany, Ga. Herbert has been performing since he was four years old. Endearingly called Herb, he finished college at Florida A and M University where he graduated with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education. While metriculating at FAMU, Herb studied dance under the instruction of Beverly Barber, artistic director of Orchesis Contemporary Dance Theatre. Herbert was also a member of the Play Maker’s Guild where he debuted in several university productions such as the “Wiz” (Scarecrow). Herbert Bowens was also a member of the world famous Marching 100 Show Band where he played snare drum, preparing him for his movie debut in Drum Line the Movie(Principle Snare Drum Player for A&T ). Herb has been seen on Stomp the Yard(Principle Stepper/Theta. Herb was the only principle dancer on the Theta team cast from Atlanta.), Dance Fever( Dance contestant ABC Family Channel), Boycott(HBO Special), and Amateur Night at the Apollo. Herb has been on Cee-Lo Green’s ” I’ll Be Around” video as the principle dancer and has choreographed for R and B sensations After 7 and Lisa “ Left Eye” Lopez’s group Egypt. Herb was a principle dancer in Jawan Jackson’s video The Party’s Jumpin’ featuring Jadakiss. Now called H3_The Artist, Herbert also has to his credit a musical named ,”The Carousel” which he wrote, composed, and directed. The Carousel is a musical about poetry, innovation, and self-espression.
