1. Lindsay Lohan clips pedestrian in Chelsea car accident – and leaves the scene!
* Victim receives a broken leg in recent flap.
* June 8th she was involved in another incident in California where it is not clear if she was the driver or not!
* In 2011, Lohan was arrested for snatching a necklace from a jewelry store in ______?
1. NYPD looks to expand ‘Taped Interrogations’
* In 2010, precincts in Brooklyn and the Bronx launched the program. The NYPD seeks to place recording equipment in all precincts citywide.
* Videotaped interrogations were limited to violent felony offenders.
* What are the PROS and CONS of this practice?

* A low budget movie ‘Innocence of Muslims’ is being reported as one of the reasons why an American diplomat Chris Stevens and three other US Consulate staff were killed in Libya. The film allegedly makes fun of the Prophet Mohammed.
* According to CNN, the attacks were the actions of a fringe terror group believed to be loosely linked to Al Qaeda.
* As of this morning, four people have been arrested in the Libyan attack.

1. New Yorkers for Beverage Choice – Looking to bring a lawsuit against the city in address of Mayor Bloomberg’s requirement that soft drinks sold at entertainment venues will be no larger than 16 ounces. - The law was approved by the Board of Health and will go into effect in March 2013.

Indictment of NYPD officer in Ramarley Graham case * 18 yr. old Ramarley Graham was chased and eventually killed in his family’s home in the Bronx on February 2nd by Richard Haste. * Surveillance cameras outside of the home show an NYPD officer rushing up to the Graham home with his gun drawn after Graham is seen entering his home. Officers arrive and * Officer Richard Haste has been indicted and will be arraigned on Manslaughter charges. * The NYPD and union officials claim that Haste felt he was in danger because they allege Graham was seen placing a firearm in his waistband before the mayhem began. !! 8 year old held in razor slashing attack on a 9 year old * PS 132 is in a tough neighborhood in the Bronx and this incident is one of many according to parents. According to the NY Daily News’ article, parents feel it’s too many things “swept under the rug (regarding discipline) and nothing is being done about it.” Another parent added “Kids around here grow up a lot rougher than most. Parents don’t want to teach their kids to do things the right way.” * Both boys say that they are victims of bullying. Mention: ‘Bully’ - The Documentary !!! National Action Network and NAACP ‘Bring the Noise’ in SILENCE * This past Sunday, coincidentally Father’s Day beginning in Harlem, a silent march against Racial Profiling and Stop and Frisk brought together tens of thousands against the controversial practice. * The march began at 110th Street at 5th Ave and ended at Mayor Bloomberg’s residence at 79th and 5th Ave. * As many as nine protesters were arrested at the end of the protest for disorderly conduct. * There was a strong presence by organized labor, faith based groups, families, The Occupy Movement and over 200 organizations were listed as taking part!
