The only equipment necessary is a microphone.
You might also want to use a pair of headphones to avoid feedback in your mic channel from the music you're playing. For best results you'll need equipment of decent quality.
Creating your first show is easy. Just click on Create in the header bar and proceed to add a new episode. By default, all the episodes you add will be part of a show named "NAME'S show". You can edit this or create a new show by clicking on the New when selecting where the recording should go.
There are lots of way to have your listeners tune in to your podcast.
The easiest way is sharing the link to your show's page with them. All they have to do is access the link. From the show page, a listener can click on the play button to start listening in.
If you prefer, you can also share an episode's page link.
Those links can be shared through your social networks, too, like Facebook and Twitter. You can copy and paste them into your messages, or you can have them automatically shared through Spreaker by connecting to your networks through your settings here. From that same page, you'll see the ability to export your episodes automatically to YouTube and SoundCloud, too.
You can also submit your show to iTunes and Stitcher by copying and pasting your RSS feed link into their platform. Take a look at how to get your link and submit it to itunes here.
Note: The RSS feed is not the same as your show URL/link. It is a special link accessible only by going to your show's page, and finding the orange RSS icon towards the top (you'll notice it has wave symbols). Right click on the icon and and copy the link.
Eventually, if you're comfortable with the HTML, you can embed a widget with a play button into your own website. Instructions can be found here.
More info on how to share you content is available here.
