We cover every step of the process on how to start a podcast throughout our Help Center as well as our blog, where you'll find pro tips and tricks and updates on Spreaker's platform.

What is a show, and what's the difference between a show and a episode?

A show is a container of episodes, while a episode is any playable, or recordable, sound. Both can be shared and distributed online.

Is there a limit to the number of episodes in a show?

There are no limits to the number of episodes you can include in a show, however you must keep under your audio storage space limits. So, for example, if you're a Free Speech user, you'll have 5 hours for your content, while if you're a Broadcaster you'll have 500.

How do I create a show?

Creating your first show is easy. Just click on Create in the header bar and proceed to add a new episode. By default, all the episodes you add will be part of a show named "NAME'S show". You can edit this or create a new show by clicking on the New when selecting where the recording should go.

How do I customize my show page?

On your Profile page, choose the show you wish to modify and then click on the EDIT button towards the right. From there you'll be able to change the URL of the show, upload and change the default image, add your contact information, and manage your intro if you are a Pro user.

You can also schedule individual episodes and notify your followers about their broadcast time and date.

How can I change the category of my show?

From your show page, click on the Edit button. From there, in the main settings page, you can select the category you feel your show fits best into.

Alternatively, you can also click on the Shows tab on your Profile page and then click on the edit icon for the show you want to modify. From there, in the main settings page, you can select the category you feel your show fits best into.

How do I insert a custom intro that will automatically play at the beginning of my show?

By upgrading to a Broadcaster Pro plan or higher, you have the option of uploading your own originally made, 5 second intro into your show's settings.

This intro must be an audio file that can be uploaded to the platform. You can do this by:

  1. Going to your show's page and clicking on the Edit button.
  2. From the menu on the right hand side, click on Manage intro.
  3. There, you can upload the audio file of your intro.

To have an intro professionally done by voice over artists, you can go to the Spreaker Store and order one from our partners over at Music Radio Creative. Once they've sent you the finished audio file, you can follow the steps written above to upload it to your show.

How can I share content on social networks?

You can share your content on the most popular social networks by clicking on the "Share" button that appears next to the episode or show.

Can I announce my upcoming broadcasts?

Spreaker features its own built-in system that publishes announcements on your upcoming episodes and episodes.

  1. From your Profile page, go to your Shows tab.
  2. Click on the Edit icon corresponding to the show of your choice.
  3. Once you're in the new page, go to "Schedule" in the menu, and create a new schedule.
  4. Choose between scheduling a single episode, or create a regular program for your show.
  5. Fill out the necessary info, and click "Create."

Your announcements will scroll alongside your followers' newsfeeds, giving the date and time of your episode's upcoming broadcast.

How do I delete a podcast or show I've created?

To delete your show, go to the show's page and then click on the Edit button. From the right-side menu, click on Delete. Then follow the prompts that appear.
